Greetings from Mrs. McKinney's 8th grade Business class. This semester we have completed many assignments in class from learning more about the principles of Business to Economics to our latest subject matter: Applications, Resumes, and Interviews.
As we enter into our final 9 weeks of class together, we will work on our next project; applying for our first entry level job. Handouts have been given to students for this project (Wed. March 27) and explained in class. This project will have 3 project grades – Part 1 the Application, Part 2 the Cover Letter and Resume, Part 3 the Interview and Follow-up Letter. We will complete this project within 2 weeks of returning from Spring break. We will also have our first student store after reports cards are issued on April 16. Student store donations are appreciated. NOTE: Donations of Tissues, Hand Sanitizer and Disinfecting Wipes, Band-Aids are always appreciated by our classroom. Other Classroom Needs: I have a student store that will open in our classroom during report card times and I would greatly appreciate donations for the school year. Store Items needed: individually wrapped candy, pencils, erasers, folders, pens, silly bracelets, individually packaged ready to make crafts, small toys, juice boxes, microwave popcorn, stickers, dollar store items, etc. Any donation would be greatly appreciated but is not required. Special note from our Administration this week:
Please inform students and parents (through Team emails etc) that Sharpies/permanent markers will no longer be permitted on campus. They have been used to write on our facility and students are using them to mark themselves and other students. There is no need to bring them and they will be confiscated starting next week.
