Welcome students and parents to Medical Careers I. I look forward to having a working relationship with all of you this semester. If you have questions or concerns, please contact me as soon as possible. Do not think any of your concerns are not important because if it concerns you, it is important. Medical Careers I is a specialized course designed to further prepare potential health care providers for performance in technical or professional health careers. Emphasis is placed on understanding medical and dental terminology, communications, anatomy and physiology, diseases/disorders, treatments, and the health professions. Skills in science, math, English, social studies, the arts, and health are reinforced in this course. We will have projects to help enhance learning of the content. We will use cooperative learning and will often work in teams. It is important that you participate in class to experience as much as possible to prepare you for your future. Reading and review nightly is vital in this class to be able to participate in class discussions. I encourage my students to talk with their parents about what they are learning and discussing in class. N.Willis, RN MSN Medical Careers I |
