Summer Reading Assignments

Rising 6th Graders: Two part assignment.  Please click on the 6th Grade Reading List below for the book list & assignment.

Rising 7th Graders: Each student needs to choose a genre to study.  Read ONE of the books listed and ONE of your own choosing from the same genre (minimum 125 pages). Students should write a five paragraph essay comparing and contrasting the two books. Be sure to address how each book possesses the characteristics of your chosen genre.  Other points of comparison could include character, theme, plot, setting, etc.  We depend on the honor system for you to only read books you have not already read.
