Answers
1)  Q Can parents volunteer in the school?
A
Parents of our enrolled students are always welcome in the school. Opportunities to voluneteer in the classroom are coordinated through the classroom teacher. Other opportunities are available each morning in the media center. The PTA helps us coordinate other school volunteers for special events and lunch time duty.

Parents who cannot volunteer during the school hours are welcome to volunteer through the PTA for other opportunities.

Important Changes in Scholarships for Field Trips
for the 2012-2013 School Year
General Greene families have been fortunate in the past to be able to request scholarships for field trips due to contributions made by the PTA at General Greene. Unfortunately, the PTA is no longer able to donate funds for field trips to individual students. We realize this is a hardship for many families, so a payment plan option will be available to families. Families can make installment payments until the total field trip cost is paid off. The total field trip cost will need to be paid in full prior to the date of the field trip for the child to be able to attend the field trip. If the child does not attend the field trip due to the trip not being paid in full, a refund will be issued for any and all payments made toward that trip.
We are in the process of soliciting donations from the community to assist families in need with scholarships. If you or a local business is interested in making donations towards field trips, please see Mrs. Ross in the office for information on how to make that contribution. Donations received for field trips will be made available to families in need in an effort to reduce their total field trip costs.
