Summer Ventures in Math and Science SVSM is a state-supported initiative at NO program costs for participants. Selected students participate in a rigorous, four-week academic program intended to reward and stimulate students who have already demonstrated their commitment to academic growth and development in science and mathematics. SVSM continues to attract North Carolina's most motivated and academically prepared students. The average participant unweighted GPA for 2009 was 3.86.
