Writing is an integral part of literacy in Spanish and in English.

MY GOAL

To empower students

with the desire,

the knowledge and the skills

needed to express themselves effectively

in writing for a variety of purposes.

To have students value their written words

and view themselves as authors.

As children get older, they are asked to take more responsibility for themselves. Being a successful part of a classroom group means that they must develop self-discipline and independence.

You Can Help!

By allowing them to make choices and then to deal with the consequences of their choices - both good and bad.
By giving them chores and expecting them to complete them correctly.
By allowing them to learn from their own mistakes without criticism.
By encouraging and focusing on things they can do rather than the things they cannot do.
