Learning Requires Discipline

To make this semester the most productive and enjoyable it can be, I have developed a few simple guidelines. Following these will help you be an active learner and an asset to the class environment.

  • Treat everyone with respect-  Rember the "Golden Rule"   Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
  • Go to assigned seat when you enter the room, stay seated at appropriate times
  • Sit upright at desk. Using good posture helps keep the blood flowing to your brain.
  •  If you feel ill, please let teacher know
  • Please raise your hand and wait to be acknowledged before speaking.
  • Stay in seat until bell rings. I will dismiss you, not the bell.
  • We use our computers for research and projects not for playing games, listening to music, etc.
  • ALL food (includes candy) and drinks (with exception of a bottle of water to be kept closed when not drinking and kept on floor beside desk) are PROHIBITED!!!
  • ALL electronic devices, cell phones, ipods, headphones, earbuds, etc. are NOT allowed in my classroom. FOLLOW THE NEW ELECTRONIC POLICY- IT IS ENFORCED IN MY CLASSROOM!

Student Responsibilities

Students will learn to take responsibility for their learning. I will encourage you to go beyond the minimum--to become an overachiever. The more you put in, the more you will get out!

Attitude and Work Habits:

Students should come to class on time and be prepared to work. Be positive and helpful. Students must keep their work area neat and organized. Each student should respect their own work and that of their classmates.

Class time is an important commodity. It is not to be wasted. All work is considered important. Your "work habits" or daily grade will reflect: promptness in getting started; efficient use of class time; persistence in working toward goals; attention to and following of directions; absence of disruptive behavior.
