I am beginning my 10th year teaching Sports Medicine.  In this class we will learn about the importance of fitness,injury prevention and nutrition for the athlete. We will learn to respond to and recognize injuries. The  Student will also develop knowledge of the various bones, muscles, ligaments, and movements of the body ..

Each student will make classroom presentations, demonstrate taping techniques, and complete 60 service hours of training with Coach Carter or Nova Woodard. This course is designed for those who truly enjoy sports and related activities.

Students will also receive SERVICE hours from working the School Blood Drive

  •  Nutrition/Fitness
  •  Injuries and recognition
  •  Taping Techniques
  •  Bones,Muscles,Ligaments,Movements of the Anatomy

 Requirements for the Class :

  • Students will be required to complete 60 Service hours working with Ms. Woodard or Coach Carter
  • Students are required to purchase Tape and Pre Wrap
  • Students are required to purchase materials needed for presentations
  • Students must follow school procedures for tardies and absences
  • Students must maintain hourly worksheets
  • Students are required to do outside reading and research
  • Studnets must be motivated and work in groups
