Each year the Media Center sponsors a Poet Laureate contest at Southwest High School. We honor our Poet Laureate and our two runners-up at a Poetry Reading and Reception in the spring. Our Poet Laureate has his or her work published along with Poet Laureates' from other high schools in Guilford County. There are also other events that the winner attends in the spring.
