Welcome to Dr. Strubinger's Chemistry Classroom!! I am so excited to welcome you to my classroom! My name is Dr. Sandra Strubinger and I teach Chemistry. In case you want to know a little bit about me, here's some background information. My family relocated to the Greensboro area from Baton Rouge, LA during the summer of 2004. I started teaching AP, IB, and Honors Chemistry at Grimsley HIgh in the fall of 2005 and transferred to Northern for in the fall of 2010. Prior to teaching at Grimsley, I worked in the chemical industry for 14 yrs. as a research analytical chemist, environmental lab chemist/supervisor, and site manager for chemical safety, health, and loss prevention. During all of my years in industry, I was teaching in some capacity. I have a North Carolina teaching license in chemistry and mathematics and I am a certified adult trainer. In addition, I have a Ph.D. in chemistry and I taught labs or lecture throughout my undergraduate and graduate degree programs at Murray State University (B.S. & M.S.) and the University of Mississippi (Ph.D.). I am originally from Grayson County in western Kentucky. I have a husband, three children, and two dogs. Our daughter graduated from the University of Georgia and the Portfolio Center in Atlanta and now lives and works in Atlanta. Our older son is starting his first year at Greensboro College where he will play baseball. Our youngest is in the 7th grade and enjoys triathlon as well as playing baseball year round. My hobbies and interests are photography (any kind!), scrapbooking, desktop publishing, gardening, outdoor activities, and anything my kids love to do! Please be sure to review the Chemistry Student Expectations. We also have a classroom wishlist link at the left and if you are able to contribute to our classroom, it would be so much appreciated. Again, welcome and I look forward to an awesome year in Chemistry. ![]() |
