Gibsonville's Student Pledge Today I will be... Respectful Trustworthy Responsible Safe and the Best Student I Can Be! |
What is PBIS? PBIS stands for positive behavior interventions and supports. Our vision is to have: A SAFE school in which no one is spending time or energy in trying to protect themselves from emotional or physical harm. A CIVIL school in which everyone is pleasant, polite, and respectful to everyone else- even during disagreements. A PRODUCTIVE school in which students are motivated, engaged in meaningful learning tasks, and experiencing growth. |

Gibsonville Elementary's PBIS Incentives and Rewards
Students are rewarded in a variety of ways for following the PBIS policies. Our school wide incentive program focuses on giving out tickets to students who are following the PBIS policies. Any staff member may give a student a ticket. Every other week students are given tickets for following the PBIS policies in the hallway, cafeteria, restroom and playground. Students write their name on their ticket and place it in their classroom teacher's ticket jar. On Friday morning, one of our teachers spins our prize wheel to see what kind of reward students will receive that afternoon. Classroom teachers draw two tickets from their classroom jar to see who receives the reward. In the cafeteria, each class has a chance to earn a classroom yellow jacket for following the cafeteria policy. At the end of each month, classroom yellow jackets are counted and each class that earns at least 80% of the yellow jackets for the month earns an extra recess or other class incentive. The incentive starts over each month. |
