A Message From The Principal
Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year! It is my pleasure to welcome you to Penn-Griffin School of the Arts. PGSA is a magnet school designed to develop students’ interests, skills, and abilities in the arts. The PGSA community celebrates a dedicated and capable staff committed to developing positive academic relationships with each child. We believe our partnership with you is important to the success of every child we serve. Please take the time to review the communication sent home weekly by middle school teachers in the Tuesday folders and notes in your student’s planner. Expect that your child brings home their planner each night and provide a designated spot in your home for your child to place the planner for your view nightly. These are beginning steps to our shared communication between home and school. I know that by listening to one another, we demonstrate to your child that we have a strong partnership, that we care about their school work and that we expect effort every day around their learning.
Please feel free to give us feedback on how your child is doing and how we can help. You can expect that PGSA will continue to help your child reach their potential. Every year we are focused on helping your child master the standards. This year we are focused on increasing the amount of instruction and instructional time devoted to the development and application of literacy skills. We are trying to capture every moment at school in order to maximize learning time for your child. Therefore attendance is important as is coming to school on time and coming ready to learn. Our mission is to help and inspire all students to grow as artists and scholars. Please continue to partner with us as we collaborate to fulfill our mission.
Sincerely, Principal |
