Odyssey

Computer assisted instruction using Odyssey learning is for the purpose of remediation and curriculum enrichment. New course credit is not available using Odyssey learning. Honors level courses are not available using Odyssey learning. Currently, GCS offers credit for new courses and honors level courses online from NCVPS and UNCG I-School.

Credit recovery is a process by which students who have failed more than one course can receive credit through online instruction. This opportunity may take place during the regular school day or during extended after school hours.

Saturn Academy

Students, who are behind their graduation cohort due to academic course failures, and need an extended day schedule, can recover credit(s) and become eligible to graduate using alternative district graduation requirements with their graduation cohort. This program operates at Andrews from 3:00 - 6:00 pm Monday through Thursday in Lab 208 under the supervision of our Graduation Coach, Jacqueline Drumwright.

Parental Guidance

All Odyssey student accounts are available for parents to view by accessing the student account. Parents are able to view student activity, student attendance and student progress in each enrolled Odyssey course.

SATURDAY ACADEMY RULES

Students are responsible for their own transportation. Failure to attend Saturday Academy will result in additional consequences, and loss of parking permit until the completion of Saturday Academy or suspension. The same is true for being asked to leave Saturday Academy.

  • Schedule is from 10am-12noon
  •
  • Attendance will be taken at 10am
  • No one is admitted to Saturday Academy who is late

Saturday Academy time will be used to work on school assignments and community service or academic projects deemed reasonable by the teacher. No sleeping is allowed. All school rules apply. Students should bring the materials needed for the schoolwork. Failure to bring school assignments will result in assigned work by the Saturday Academy coordinator.

If an emergency prevents a student's attendance, the parent or guardian must come to school the following Monday for a conference with administration to discuss the absence.
