Guilford County Schools is a place for you to succeed whether you are a GCS student, a parent or family member of a student, an employee, a volunteer or a community member.

For the Student
In GCS, no two students are alike, and we think this is a good thing. Throughout the district, there are numerous ways students can explore their interests. Academic programs, after-school clubs and service-learning projects are all ways to get involved and learn how to make a difference.

Whether a new parent in GCS or a veteran parent like Michelle, sending your child to school is an exciting time. GCS offers support in a number of ways to help become a full partner in your child’s education. The district’s new Parent Academy provides free workshops and family learning events, while most schools’ parent organizations give you opportunities to get involved in your child’s school.

GCS is not only big in size, but also big in heart. Volunteers contributed more than 350,000 hours during the 2009-10 school year, and now, more than ever, we need volunteers who can help move our district forward, and contribute positively to the success of our schools and our students.
