ER Coaches Corner

With a district focus on improving student achievement, the Enrichment Region has found value in extending prescriptive services to the Enrichment Regions schools stakeholders. The Enrichment Region believes strongly in the positive impact of content literacy: developing from creating a culture of student confidence, monitoring and adjusting for mastery of understanding, encouraging curiosity with higher level thinking and engaging tasks, embedding literacy strategies within each content area and using assessment to re-teach or extend. Supporting schools in the endeavor of increasing student achievement in all ER schools are four regional coaches with specific content area concentration and support personnel for character development and the exceptional children’s’ program.  Enrichment Region coaches and other support staff include Naomi Jessup (K-5 math and formative assessment);  Toneysha Amos (K-5 literacy); Johnette McCain (Director of Academies and K-12 science); Karen Harris (character development liaison); and Laura Craig (EC Program Administrator).
