The program includes an online course and an international fellowship through a two- or three week country visit upon successful completion of the online course. Current countries of program travel: Brazil, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Morocco or Ukraine. The program includes a teacher’s workshop, a 14-day study tour for four North Carolina teachers, and a fall cultural event focused on Turkish culture. Eligibility requirements: a current full-time teacher or media specialist who has been in the classroom for the past 2 years (preferably in in humanities, art, or literature), teach in the Triangle region (or bordering region) and will work full-time in the classroom during the 2012-2013 school year. National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) -Summer Seminars and Institutes: The NEH’s Division of Education Programs offers teachers opportunities to study a variety of humanities topics in NEH Summer Seminars and Institutes. NEH Summer Scholars are awarded fixed stipends to help cover travel costs, books and other research expenses, and living expenses. Stipend amounts are based on the length of the NEH Summer Seminar or Institute. Eligibility requirements: Full-time teachers, librarians and school administrators in American K-12 schools.
