American Education Week

Attached please find a proclamation recognizing American Education Week, which takes place November 15–21, 2009. The tagline is Great Public Schools: A Basic Right and Our Responsibility.

Each day during the week spotlights a different aspect of school life:

• Monday, November 16: Open House Day
• Tuesday, November 17: Parents Day
• Wednesday, November 18: Education Support Professionals Day
• Thursday, November 19: Educator for a Day
• Friday, November 20:Substitute Educators Day

RECOMMENDATION:  The Board of Education accepts the proclamation and recognizes American Education Week November 15-21, 2009.
