In keeping with Board procedures and the recommendations of the Legislative Committee, next steps include: Board review and discussion of proposed legislative agenda | Nov. 10 | Board review and adoption of legislative agenda | Nov. 24 or Dec. 1 | Meet with Guilford County federal delegation re. NCLB reauthorization | December - January | Participate in NCLB forums and hearings | December – January - February | Host annual legislative luncheon | TBD | State legislative session begins | May |
RECOMMENDATION: Review the proposed legislative agenda and position paper on Nov. 10; place the proposed legislative agenda and position paper on either the Nov. 24 or Dec. 1 Board of Education meeting agenda for further discussion and adoption.
