Summer Reading at Gibsonville Elementary

To encourage a summer of reading we are beginning our first ever Summer Reading Incentive Program! Students have the opportunity to read during the summer and earn a prize on Open House Night, August 23, 2012. In order to earn a prize, students will keep a reading log, either on paper (see below) or online. Students should read their minutes each week, for at least 9 out of 11 weeks this summer. Rising K-1 students should read 60 minutes, 2-3 graders for 75 minutes, and 4-6 graders for 90 minutes (the grade you will be in the fall).

We will also be holding a competition to see which grade level had the most participation!

Summer Reading Lists at the bottom of the page are suggestions. Your reading choices can be at any grade level, however it is recommended that you read at your level. What is important is that you READ!

You can participate one of two ways - go online to Summer Reading Challenge and log in using information sent home at the end of the year...
