Students who attend the Middle College at UNCG may be enrolled in both high school and college courses any given semester. As you know, parents may freely talk with GCS teachers about a child’s academic performance without the child’s consent. However, this is not the case with UNCG professors.
Due to Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), UNCG professors are not allowed to discuss or share information with parents about their child’s academic performance without the child’s consent and the parent’s request.
If you would like to have access to your child’s academic performance, you must get your child’s permission by having them fill out the “Student Consent” form. Parents should also complete the “Parent Request” form. Both forms should be returned to the MC at UNCG front office.
Below, are the links to the forms and a website that will provide you with more information on FERPA.
