History and Location Allen Middle School is centrally located in southern Guilford County and opened in 1968 as Allen Junior High School. The school was named for Arch Turner Allen, a distinguished North Carolina scholar and state superintendent for public instruction from 1923 to 1943. Under the leadership of Mr. Jamal Woods, Allen serves approximately 800 students in grades six through eight. Our primary feeder schools are Alderman, Archer, Frazier, Murphy and Vandalia.
