Our Spring Book Fair will take place from April 29 to May 3.  The Book Fair is a great opportunity to stock up on summer reading material and to encourage your children to try a new book!  For more details on hours and books available at the Book Fair, click here:

Accelerated Reader Information

Accelerated Reader (AR) is a program designed to bolster reading comprehension skills for students in the second through fifth grades. This year, Brooks is using a new Web-based version of AR, a gift from our generous PTA. This new version gives students access to more quizzes than the previous program.

To see if your book is AR, please visit www.arbookfind.com.

To see your student's AR record for the year, please visit https://hosted285.renlearn.com/36322/. Parents can request a user name and password to access student accounts.

Media Center Information

The Media Center is open for school-wide checkout from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. every morning and various times throughout the day. Your child will also have an information skills class in the media center on a fixed schedule and he or she may check out books at that time too. During class we will learn how information is organized in our libary, how to find information to support classroom learning, and how to find a good book for pleasure reading.

The Book Exchange 

   Why Visit the Book Exchange? 

•   To  find  a great book!

•   To  find  an AR book and earn points!

•   To  clean  off your bookshelf!

The Book Exchange  takes place in the cafeteria every Friday from 7:35 to 7:55 AM, and on the last Friday of each month from 2:10-2:30 PM in the Media  Center.  Bring a gently-used book (except board books) and exchange it for a "new-to-you" book.
