The Guilford County Council of PTAs announced the district
level winners of the annual Reflections arts competition. The 23
students who received first-place honors will enter their works into the
state competition. Each year PTAs sponsor the Reflections contest to
showcase student talent in the arts. Students prepare original works in
dance, film, literature, music, photography and visual art for the
competition. More than 2,600 entries were submitted across the district
by elementary, middle and high school students, which is an increase
over last year's entries. Lisa Greggory, the Reflections chair for the
Council of PTAs, was very impressed with the student work. "Some of the
work is just phenomenal this year," she said. "The theme was easy for
them to interpret." This year's theme, "Beauty is…" gave students a
starting point for their work. The following students received first
