Happy May! It may not feel like it some days with the chilly weather, but May has arrived! We are getting ready to round out another school year. Time sure did fly this year! May is chock full of activities and lessons. We will focus on animal habitats, farming and agriculture, and finish the year out with human body systems. We have a couple of trips planned to enhance our learning and generalize the skills and concepts we have learned in the classroom. We will be finishing our work sites at the end of this month. We have been highly complimented with our work ethic and skills this year! We have been asked back to every site we have visited next school year! Please attend the Special Needs Prom at Life Community Church, Friday May 10th from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. We have more students than ever attending! This event is so fun and one of the favorite activities of the year! Hope to see you there! It is such a bittersweet time of year! We are so proud of our graduates, yet have such a hard time letting them go! They are going onto bigger and better with the beginning of their independent adult lives! We have several activities planned for seniors. I have sent home information to all of the parents that are involved. We have a Senior Picnic planned for our Life Skills classes and their families to help send our graduates off! My very own husband is going to be the grill master and cook us hamburgers and hot dogs! Graduation for High Point Central will be on Saturday, June 8th at 8:30pm at the Greensboro Special Events Center. There will be no school on Monday, May 27th for Memorial Day. Our last day of school will be Tuesday, May 28th. Only students taking an EOC will be in the building for the remainder of the year. As always, please call or email with any questions. 336-819-2839 vockej@gcsnc.com
