In pre-kindergarten, there are no grades in the traditional sense.  We do have assessments that we have to administer and we will share these results with you.  The results will be shared with you during conferences.  These results are expressed in a couple of different ways.  With some skills, such as with writing your name, the child will receive "yes" or "no."  With some skills, such as letter recognition, the child will receive a number, such as 15/26, indicating the child knows 15 out of 26 letters.

Other than the formal assessments, we will be doing a lot of observing of your child during our days together.  Through our observations, we will gather information about your child's interests and their abilities in various areas.  This will help us in guiding them during the year. 

You will also have a chance to see different work samples your child has produced through the year.  This will help us to see growth.
