Peck began celebrating the 100th Day of school during the 2006/2007 school year. I thought this milestone during the school year would be an excellent event to link to reading. We decided that students in pre k, kindergarten, first, and second grades would listen to at least 100 books being read to them. Students in third, fourth, and fifth grade would read at least 100 chapters by the 100th day of school. Peck students rose to the challenge and the event was a phenomenal success. We celebrated with presentations from students in our primary classes. This is a picture of the "Jacksonettes." We performed a dance from Michael Jackson's Thriller album "Beat It." We changed the words to "Just Read It!"
