Alex Hughes, a junior at Southeast High, won a video contest sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education. He was the only finalist from North Carolina. Students were asked to submit original videos on the topic, "I Am What I Learn," and Alex was encouraged by a teacher at Weaver Academy to enter the contest.
