The goal of this site is to serve as a source of purchasing information to all vendors and prospective bidders who wish to do business with the Guilford County Schools. You will find information on how the purchasing process works, whom to contact for the many commodities and services required by Guilford County Schools, and information about current bid opportunities.

The Guilford County Schools Purchasing Department is committed to:

  • Getting maximum benefits for the students from the school system’s state, local and federal funds.
  • Carrying out the purchasing process in the best interest of the Guilford County Schools, its students and employees and the taxpayers of Guilford County.
  • Acting in accordance with NC General Statutes, local Board of Education policies and procedures, and recognized professional purchasing practices.
  • Providing a climate of fair and open competition for all qualified vendors.

The Guilford County Board of Education is committed to providing equal opportunities for participation in all aspects of the Guilford County Schools contracting and purchasing programs including, but not limited to, participating in procurement contracts for materials, services, construction and repair work activities, and lease agreements in the Guilford County Schools. Responsibilities

The Purchasing Department is responsible for the purchase of supplies, apparatus, materials and equipment for the system's schools and administrative departments. The Purchasing Department is also responsible for formal and informal construction contracting and contracting for services, as well as disposal of surplus property.
