Welcome to Career and Technical Education (CTE)
Career and Technical Education (CTE) in Guilford County Schools empowers students to participate in the international economy as world-class workers and citizens. CTE programs contribute to the broad educational achievement of students including basic skill development and the ability to work independently and as a team member. Students learn to think creatively and use technology in the problem-solving process.
CTE concentrators or College Tech Prep (CTP) completers take four or more CTE courses in a career cluster with at least one at the advanced level. CTP enables high school students to earn college credits and gain work-based learning experiences, which puts them on a career pathway toward postsecondary education and preparation for high-skill, high-wage and high-demand occupations. Students also have the opportunity to prepare for national certification tests that provide a distinct advantage in a competitive job market.
