History of Nathanael Greene School |
Nathanael Greene is a small school filled with approximately 325 students eager to learn in a safe and orderly environment. The school is located in a rural community that values traditions and has generational family ties. The dedicated staff recognizes those strong traditions. Our staff is and has been considered to be a positive role throughout this community. A major strength of Nathanael Greene is retaining highly qualified teachers. The majority of the staff has taught at Nathanael Greene for more than ten years and has developed positive relationships with the students and parents, which have fostered a continuous improvement in the academic performance of the students. The parents are very involved in the school and provide an enormous amount of support to the school. The Teacher Working Conditions Survey was carefully analyzed by the school’s leadership team and provided positive feedback regarding the school climate. Thus, you will observe authentic student work displayed, teachers collaborating during professional learning communities (PLC), and parents volunteering daily. It is evident that the staff and community value the importance of providing the students with positive learning experiences by using various methods to meet the needs of all of the students. The academic performance of our students has consistently resulted in academic growth. Nathanael Greene has been recognized as a "School of Distinction", "School of Excellence", and “Honor School of Excellence” for the past 6 years. It is the mission of Nathanael Greene to create an atmosphere, which fosters optimal learning experiences. We believe in teaching the whole child while embracing each child’s uniqueness as an individual. The school values the opportunity for student success, empowering and motivating students to make the best decisions, seeking opportunities for continuous parent involvement, while using data to drive instruction. We are confident that our students will continue to experience academic success |
