Mrs. Pearce's K-1 Class

 I teach objectives based on the North Carolina Standard Course of Study and in accordance with the Guilford County Schools program. My objective is to provide developmentally appropriate experiences that help each child grow and help make learning fun. Reading, writing, and math are the main curriculum areas that are integrated with science and social studies themes. I utilize Balanced Literacy and Writer's Workshop to teach reading and writing. Math is taught through a combination of manipulatives, guided math groups, and written tasks. Open-ended learning activities are provided during a daily center time. My goal is to help your child discover that learning is fun and lay the groundwork for your child to become a life-long lover of learning and an outstanding citizen.
