I have three children. Parker and Erin are my twin girls and I have a son, Ron. My mission is to meet the academic, career, social and personal needs of Aycock Middle School students. Girls in Science Lab Summer Experience Ages: 7th – 8th grade middle school girls Program Date: June 10 - 14, 2013 Program Director: Dr. Stephanie Luster-Teasley (336-285-3679/email: luster@ncat.edu ) or Dr. Radiah Minor (336-285-4787/rcminor@ncat.edu ) Phone: 336-285-3679 Registration Deadline: May 15, 2013 Program Cost: No Cost (Burroughs – Wellcome Fund and North Carolina A&T State University) Program Description: This Free one week hands-on engineering and science lab experiences camp is designed for 7th – 8th grade middle school girls. Participants will be engaged in case study-based laboratory experiences related to environmental hazards, biology, chemistry and engineering. The program will be led by female PhD faculty serving as mentors; will work directly with the students providing hands-on lab experiences in their research laboratories. Program Goals are to build confidence in: Use of Technology Presentation Skills Program Objective is to increase female interest and or pursue careers in Science or Engineering This program is sponsored by the Burroughs -Wellcome Fund and North Carolina A&T State University. North Carolina School of Science and Math Step Up To Stem Summer Program for 8th graders. Step Up to STEM is an innovative statewide two-week intensive academic program. Students stay on the campus of North Carolina School of Science and Math and participate in hands-on activities that connect science and math to their daily lives.
