 Welcome to Mrs. Brenda Lillard's Third Grade. What wonderful students who are always ready to work and learn. Curriculum: Reading: We are currently working on skills that make us super readers. Things such as sequencing, drawing conclusions, predicting, cause and effects, themes and reading a variety of generes help us learn. Math: Our big focus this nine week period will be reviewing second grade skills, place value, comparing numbers, multiple digit addition and subtraction, measuring in inches, feet, yards, miles, centimeters, meters and problem solving skills. font> Science: This nine weeks we will study about the sun, moon and the earth. Writing: Students are enjoying learning about the writing process using writer's notebooks. If your child does not have a stitched composition book please purchase one as soon as possible. Social Studies: We will begin to learn about maps and our world this nine weeks. Our yearly themes concentrate on our community and how it relates to others in the world. |
