Noon to 5:00pm The International Festival is an annual celebration of the diverse world in which we live and of the beauty that human cultures have to offer. I-Fest promotes cultural awareness, appreciation and understanding through the mediums of music, food, crafts, demonstrations and entertainment from all corners of the globe. I-Fest is an event open to the UNCG family and the general public during which you, your families and friends may come to experience and learn about the diverse world in which we live as I-Fest brings the world to you! As an I-Festival visitor you will be able to see, hear, smell and taste various cultures from around the planet! Whether you are curious about life beyond our shores, or curious about the curious people down the street, I-Fest is a kaleidoscope that brings all peoples together. At I-Fest you will discover a “Global Village” of nearly 40 booths along the lawn of the Fountain Area and live entertainment throughout the festival's duration. Attend a Magnet Monday tour of our campus, led by current IB students January 28, February 4, and February 11 Tours are led on the hour every hour between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. Guests are asked to sign in the Main Office first and then report to the auditorium at the designated time. You only need to attend one tour. |
IB Coordinator: Important Upcoming Dates Tuesday, September 4, 2012: Full draft of the extended essay due for all IB candidates, class of 2013. Two copies are due to Media Specialist Jen Worrells by 4:00 pm. Friday, October 5, 2012: 7 pm until Saturday, October 6 at 7 am, GHS Media Center: IB class of 2014 lock-in. Students will learn about research methods, the extended essay, IB subject areas, and develop a research question. Parents are encouraged to volunteer for this exciting event by contacting the IB coordinator at purgasc@gcsnc.com. Friday, December 7, 2012: 12:00-4:00 pm, IB Class of 2014 field trip to Jackson Library, UNCG. Students will learn about accessing resources at UNCG and mesearch methodologies for the extended essay process.
