Procedures For Arranging Appointments With Counselors

Student Appointments:

  1. The student should go to the counseling office before school, at lunch, or after school to sign up for an appointment. Students can also ask teachers to request an appointment for the student.
  2. The counselor will send an appointment slip (listing the appointment time) with the student.
  3. The student should report to class and show the appointment slip to the teacher. If the student is taking a test or quiz the teacher should call the counselor and let the counselor know when the student will be down due to a test or quiz.
  4. Student comes to the counseling department for appointment.
  5. The counselor will note the departure time on the appointment slip when the student leaves the counselor's office.
  6. The student must return to class promptly and show the appointment slip to the teacher so that the absence from class may be excused.
  7. The counselor may also call or send for a student during class. Teachers would send the student with a note to the counselor's office. When the appointment is finished the counselor will note the departure time on the slip and have the student return to class.
