Wednesday, June 26 from 4:00-6:00

Wednesday, July 10 from 4:00-6:00

Wednesday, July 24 from 4:00-6:00

Wednesday, Aug. 7 from 4:00-6:00

Students must be accompanied by an adult during summer circulation hours. Please use the rear entrance to the media center. Northern students may check out 3 books during summer circulation. All books are due back at the beginning of school. No need to worry about a library card  -- we have all the information we need in the circulation system.

Hours of Operation during the school year: 7:20 am until 2:00 pm

Circulation policies: Kindergarten students may check out one book at a time; students in grades 1 through 5 may check out two books at a time. Books are checked out for a two-week period. Books may be renewed on a case-by-case basis. There is no fine for overdue books; however, fines are applied to lost and damaged books. Once a lost book is paid for, it becomes the property of the student.

Summer Reading!

This summer, all GCS students are challenged to read 20 minutes a day. The goal is to have each GCS student read their way across America by January, which means reading 3,114 minutes. If you don't read this summer, you'll be left behind on this reading road trip!

There are lots of great reading incentive programs available this summer. You can turn in a Northern Reading log (see links below) either in paper format or on-line.

If your child participated in another summer reading program (Barnes & Noble, Pizza Hut Book-It, public library), please let us know. Students turning in a reading log by Friday, Aug. 29, will receive a reward. But remember, we need to know minutes read -- not just book titles!!

Also if you partcipated in the Nighthawk Dads' Reading Challenge, please turn in your challenge forms to Mrs. Farrell by Friday, Aug. 29. Each completed item is worth one raffle ticket. Prizes are two sideline passes to the NGHS vs. Easter Guilford football game on Oct. 18, 2013 or a pizza dinner with dessert.

Please click on link below if you would like to submit your summer reading minutes on-line.

Elementary Battle of the Books

Please click here for information about Elementary Battle of the Books. A general interest meeting will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 25. Interest forms were sent via e-mail the last week of school. If you did not receive one, please use the link above. The link above also has information about book lists and participation details.
