Welcome to Mr. Miller's Webpage here at the Academy at Central.  This semester, I am teaching Geometry, Algebra II and Pre-Calculus and am excited to be here and work with the Academy students.  For the last 3 years, I was teaching Geometry, Algebra II and Pre-Cal in Biscoe, NC and the 5 years before that I was teaching adult education classes in Spanish in Guatemala.  While I was there, I met my wife, Erika, who now lives with me in Asheboro, NC where we are expecting our first child in January!

I hope that this year is a good one for your child at the Academy and in Math. My desire is for every child to succeed by having high standards and showing everyone that they truly can succeed.  Math can be fun and we will do many hands on activities as well as several activities outside and on the computer.  Please encourage your child to DO HOMEWORK. There is a great link under Useful Links where they will have access to an Internet program that shows them how to do all the odd problems from the book.  There is no excuse of not knowing how to do the work and there is no excuse of not knowing what the work was either.  Each unit, I will hand out a Syllabus of dates showing CW and HW assignments that need to be completed.  Even sick children can stay up with the class if they take the time to read on their own.

Again, thank you for coming to my page and I hope that all your questions can be answered here.  Please look at Useful Links for homework help and neat interactive websites and under Document Manager for Class Rules and daily syllabus(assignments) that are due.
